Roast Turkey at Thanksgiving; Grilled Turkey anytime!

Turkey makes a great meal.  I like to slice turkey cutlets from the breast meat to grill. For grilling you can separate the wings and drumsticks and carve the breast and thigh meat into thick cutlets to grill.   I like to grill the turkey cutlets and then cover with lots of BBQ sauce and move the grill off the fire a little bit and keep turning and saucing to get a caramelized BBQ sauce coating.

Whole Turkey versus Turkey Breast
With an average 15 lb. turkey if you save $.20 a pound on a whole turkey over bone-in turkey breast, it is like getting the dark meat free. Saving more than $.20 then you are actually saving money on turkey breast white meat. Dark meat has slightly more calories and fat, however the dark meat has heart-healthy omega-3. Also dark meat has more iron (it is the iron chemistry in the dark meat that makes it dark). Also dark meat has more minerals like zinc and B-vitamins. Your carved roast turkey leftovers are great for sandwiches and casseroles. For grilling you can separate the wings and drumsticks and carve the breast and thigh meat into thick cutlets to grill. Whole turkey is great anytime of year.
