Labor Day is a great day to celebrate with a cook out. Honor America's labor! Here is a cookout shopping list highlighting "Made in America" http://www.aflcio.org/content/download/36581/574611/version/2/file/cookout2.pdf
Exciting News! Many have asked if we could offer a bigger grill. Yes! We now offer a 25" grill which is 20% larger and it is a heavy duty with a chrome finish grill. Select this option from the dropdown menu.
Our black porcelain grills have been inconsistent in quality recently so we are shipping chrome grills at this time.
Grills are drop shipped from a business partner and arrive separately from your Big Woods Tripod.
Summer is here and the living is easy. Hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ Chicken is all easy to grill on the Big Woods Tripod Grill. Our large grill has great capacity. New option for 6' Tripod is a GIANT 25" diameter grill! You can cook it all!
Turkey makes a great meal. I like to slice turkey cutlets from the breast meat to grill. For grilling you can separate the wings and drumsticks and carve the breast and thigh meat into thick cutlets to grill. I like to grill the turkey cutlets and then cover with lots of BBQ sauce and move the grill off the fire a little bit and keep turning and saucing to get a caramelized BBQ sauce coating.
Whole Turkey versus Turkey Breast
With an average 15 lb. turkey if you save $.20 a pound on a whole turkey over bone-in turkey breast, it is like getting the dark meat free. Saving more than $.20 then you are actually saving money on turkey breast white meat. Dark meat has slightly more calories and fat, however the dark meat has heart-healthy omega-3. Also dark meat has more iron (it is the iron chemistry in the dark meat that makes it dark). Also dark meat has more minerals like zinc and B-vitamins. Your carved roast turkey leftovers are great for sandwiches and casseroles. For grilling you can separate the wings and drumsticks and carve the breast and thigh meat into thick cutlets to grill. Whole turkey is great anytime of year.

I have updated ordering and shipping with a new PayPal button. Hopefully this will work great with just one place to click. It will then take you to a secure ordering page with shipping options customized for shipping to your address. So far we have shipping rates to all US States and territories, APO, and Canada. We have shipped to Europe, Asia and most recently Austrailia (I have to check new postal regulations and then get them posted. To some countries I have to make detachable legs in parts). Your comments are welcome.
For a healthier BLT use a lean thin sliced center cut Pork loin. You can find thin sliced pork chops or you can buy a lean pork loin and slice it thin. Use a non-iodized salt (kosher, pickling) for seasoning meat and you will have less drying out. Add fresh ground pepper, and/or garlic or just a little of your favorite Barbecue sauce or Soy Sauce. To tenderize you can squeeze a little lemon juice. You can season just before grilling or as much as 4 hours before.
Clean your grill grate and get grate hot over top of wood flames. You can take a paper towel with a little olive oil and quickly wipe the grill to help prevent sticking. Place your thin chops on the grill and you can raise the grill and cook a little slower. Turn in 5 minutes and repeat a few times. You can place nearer to heat when you wish to finish them golden brown.
Make the sandwich with your favorite whole grain bread (you could also toast the bread on the grill and place meat on bread before removing from grill), Add your crisp leaf lettuce and tomatoe. You can also use a low-fat olive oil Mayonaisse. Enjoy.
Father's Day will be here soon. Spending time with family enjoying backyard games and grilling bbq is a great way to spend Fathers' day. The Big Woods Tripod is a great gift and will be appreciated for many Fathers' days to come.
